Antarctica, largely unexplored, its stark beauty draws explorers to the ice, snow, ocean, atmosphere, and mountains ready for discovery. Climate change is influencing the character of the land and water. Glaciers and ice are melting into ponds, streams, and lakes. The colors in this piece, especially the blue, green-blue, and purple-blue shades suggest the glacial lake that is forming from melt water starting the process of moving and making its way to the ocean.
