“Keyholes” was inspired by dike walls of the Spanish Peaks in Southern Colorado. Erosion is ubiquitous in nature but can sometimes lead to interesting natural features. These erosional remnants show the effects of erosion on different rock types. The keyholes developed in softer rock below the cap rock.
